BILL'S MAGIC BAR
Chicago has a long history of the “magic bar,” a place where customers could have food and drink and see magic tricks. Two notables were Schulien’s Restaurant and Saloon, which was in business for more than a century, and The New York Lounge, which entertained customers for 40 years under the slogan “It’s Fun to be Fooled.”
From the mid-1970’s to the late 1990’s, Bill performed at them and five other historic Chicago magic bars. He writes about his experiences in his book Now You See Them, Now You Don’t – my life at the magic bars of Chicago (see BOOKS tab).
As a founding member of the Chicago Magic Lounge, Bill performed bar magic there on a regular basis. He has also entertained audiences at the W.C. Fields bar in the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood CA.
Now, thanks to the portable Bill’s Magic Bar, your customers, employees, and friends can experience the fun and laughter of Chicago-style magic, as Bill presents classic bar magic handed down from generation to generation, contemporary magic, and original routines of his own that he has perform over the last forty plus years.
The setting is for adults, but the material and language presented is suitable for all audiences. You’ll be amazed at the wonders that are presented.
